Engagement Updates

Universal Search

Residents and staff can search for all announcements posted in Community Engagement using the search feature at the top of the menu. The universal search creates an overall more enhanced experience for users. 

Directory

The Resident and Staff directory on Community Engagement has been updated with a more improved design. The Directory also includes more sorting options to provide users with an easier way to search for residents or staff members. 

Notifications

In the notifications area on Community Engagement, staff and residents can clear expired announcements and old notifications. 

Announcement Date Selection

In the announcements area of Community Engagement, users can select a specific date to view announcements.  A standard calendar will appear with the option to pick a certain month, date, and year providing users with an easier way to navigate to different day announcements. 

Past Due Check-In Emails

Notification emails can go to the task owner if the resident check-in is past due. This will provide the owner/staff member with the information needed on the resident/unit/time.

Event Attendees List 

When selecting an event on the Calendar area of Community Engagement, residents can now see who is registered for the specific event.

Vital Trends

In the vitals section of the resident’s profile, under the trending tab users can see weight gain or loss percentages for residents based on a selected time frame. 

Quality Measures 

Pfitzer COVID-19 Booster and Moderna COVID-19 Booster Vaccinations are now options for in the Quality Measures Module. 

COVID-19 Report 

In the Intelligence Reporting area, the COVID-19 report now includes a refusal status if a resident refused to take the vaccine. 

Core Product Updates

Communication Opt-Out

In the Intelligence Report area, under the staff section, the Broadcast Opted Out Users report will show which staff users have opted out of Broadcast messages. Staff with access to this report will be able to remove users from the opted-out list so they can receive broadcast messages again.

Multiple Resident Login 

Residents can log in from multiple devices simultaneously without getting logged out from other devices.

Event Conflicts 

In the calendar area of Community Engagement, users can now identify any event conflicts for residents up to 90 days in advance.

Announcement Preview

Staff can preview an announcement before posting in the announcements area of Community Engagement.

Download Directory- Residents 

In the directory area of Community Engagement, residents can now download the directory.

Weekly Calendar Event Location 

Residents can view the location of events in the community by accessing the weekly calendar view in the calendar area of Community Engagement.

Staff Community Engagement Profiles 

Staff can edit their Community Engagement profile under the My Profile area of Community Engagement.

Appointments in the PoC App

There will be an appointment completion bar and an appointment loading bar in the appointments area to improve the user experience. 

New Option in the Vitals Trending 

In the vitals section of the resident’s profile, you will find two new options in the date drop-down menu, last 60 days and last 90 days. 

Revise the Initializing Assessment Setting Configuration Screen

In the Assessments 2.0 area of the resident’s profile, staff will have the ability to schedule an assessment by providing either “last completion date” or “upcoming due date.” Also, staff will be able to control the subsequent schedule intervals (that the next due should be X days from the previous). Staff will also be able to delete and reschedule an assessment for a resident. This ability is tied with permission to control the access. Enhancements and Fixes 

When selecting a link from an email, the user will now be directed to that area of the application for quicker and easier navigation (iOS now updated). 

The ability to add file attachments in the directory on Community Engagement.

Clinical Updates

Enhanced Assessment Configuration

In Assessments 2.0, communities will have the ability to schedule an assessment by providing either “last completion date” or “upcoming due date”. Assessment intervals can be scheduled more easily (i.e. the next due should be X days from the previous). Communities will also have the ability to delete and reschedule an assessment for a resident (in case they initialized the schedules with wrong dates). This ability will be tied with permission to control the access.

All of these updates will appear in the settings area of Assessments 2.0 within the resident’s profile.

Monthly PDF Styler Update

New banners and reformatted banner text will appear within the Calendar Central PDF styler. 

Nightly Census Report

The Nightly Census report is an intelligence report that tracks data for resident’s admission & hospitalization on a nightly basis or by allocated number of hours. This report can be found within the intelligence reports.

Engagement Updates

Link in Resident Email Notifications

When a resident receives an email notification about an update posted in Community Engagement, they can click on the link included to take them directly to the area of the updated posting. For Android users, the link will open into the Community App and iOS users will be directed to an internet application on their device. 

Clinical Updates

Hide Tasks Notes from Tasks Report

Users are able to hide the task notes from appearing in the Tasks Report. This setting is found in the Notes/Comm Log section of Configurations. 

Med Passes Report Includes Type option

Staff can filter the Med Passes Report by Type, which includes medications or treatments. In order to have this filter added, please ensure the “Filter eMAR by Medications, Treatments” setting is turned on in the eMAR Configuration section.

PRN History Included in the Point of Care (POC) App Quick Add/Administer Screen

When giving a resident a PRN, staff will be able to see the 24 hour PRN history, similar to what is seen on the desktop version. 

New Icons Added in the POC APP for Med Routes

New icons have been added for ophthalmic and inhalant med routes.

Core Product Updates

Setting Staff Access to Expire

With many communities having temporary users that need access to Caremerge, staff is now able to set the access to automatically expire as opposed to manually terminating access. This feature can be accessed in the personal information section of the users profile. 

Email confirmation of form completion

When a form is completed, an individual, role or group can now be notified via email allowing users to stay on top of form completion.

Clinical Updates

Notes Column added to the Med Passes Report

A Notes column has been added to the Med Passes Report making it easier to access these notes when reviewing med passes.

Option to Create Monthly Schedule for Medications and Treatments 

As some medications and treatments may only require a monthly recurrence pattern, a monthly option has been added when creating a new schedule.

Hide ‘All Pending, Reject and Auto-Approved’ if Med Approval is turned Off

If the Med Approval configuration is turned off, the option to hide All Pending, All Rejected and All Auto-Approved orders will no longer appear in the Med Orders tab. This allows for the user workflow to be more compatible based on the chosen settings.

Pre-Admit Dashboard Fields and Printing

Staff is now able to record more information in the Pre-Admission Dashboard as well as print copies of the Emergency Printout. This allows for resident information to be added to the system more efficiently should there be a need for immediate access.

Community Engagement: Content Library Video Recommendations

The Content Library now features “Video Recommendations”. This will highlight videos similar to those previously watched, providing new and personalized content for users to explore.

Clinical Updates

Medications and Treatments Separated on the Emergency Printout

Resident’s current medications and current treatments will now be listed separately on the Emergency Printout making it easier to distinguish.

Ability to “Hide Tasks”

Users have the ability to ‘Hide Tasks’ which are created directly from the Care Plan(s). This will allow specific interventions from the care plan that don’t require tasks to be signed-off to still be documented for audit or reporting purposes.

Incident Report Trigger in Workflows

An Incident Report Trigger has been added for all workflows enabled communities by default. This will push a notification via email, an in-app alert and a Point of Care App Alert.

New Michigan State Assessments

For communities located in Michigan, there has been a new Health Care Appraisal Assessment that is in line with state compliance.

Additional Prescribed Diet Responses

More response options have been added to the Prescribed Diet field to better align with the language used by physicians when selecting dietary restrictions for residents.

Additional Field Responses on Resident Profile

More field responses such as none or not applicable have been added to clarify for staff that fields in the profile have been reviewed. This also allows more information to be provided to have a more full patient picture.

Engagement Updates

Community Engagement: Max Capacity on Dining Reservations 

Dining Reservations now have the ability to set a maximum limit on the reservation capacity for each Resident reservation. This increases flexibility for communities that are re-opening for dining, but want to limit table sizes to comply with Covid-19 restrictions.

Clinical Updates

New Notes Summary Report added to Intelligence Reports

Users can now pull a Notes Summary Report in Intelligence and can be filtered by Critical Tags, Non Critical Tags, Resident, Resident Status and Time Frame. This data can be exported for further analysis.

Resident Pictures Showing in the Point of Care App

In the latest version of the Point of Care (POC) App, resident’s pictures will appear in multiple locations such as the eMAR and Tasks Dashboard. This will help new staff members learn resident’s and put a name to a face quicker.

Show or Hide Service Tags in the Point of Care App

Staff is now able to show or hide Services Tags in the Point of Care App to help streamline workflow. These can be updated in the facility configuration settings.

Engagement Updates

Community Engagement: Directory “Address” and “Title” Information

Community Engagement users will now be able to edit the “Title” field within their profile to display any titles they might like to appear to other residents. Staff can also turn the Address field on or off from the “Configurations” menu. 

Clinical Updates

Covid-19 Vaccinations will be Included in Emergency Printout 

All Covid-19 vaccinations will be included in the Emergency Printout, as well as the date and any notes related to the vaccination.

Tasks Frequency included in New York ISP Care Plan

When users now add tasks from the Care Plan with single or multiple frequency times, the system will add-up the tasks frequency and that number will display in the preview and system generated document.

New Prescribed Diet Field and Diet Roster Report 

In the Resident Profile, there will be the ability to add additional terms for prescribed diets within the new “Prescribed Diet” field, located under Health Information. Staff will also be able to pull this information to create a PDF report.


Transition Timelines will Transfer from Previous Communities 

Staff is now able to see a resident’s transition history that occurred at another Caremerge community prior to moving into the new community. It will appear below the current facility’s transition information in a grayed out box.

Community Engagement: Announcements Preview in Push Notifications

Community Engagement users can now see the actual contents of Announcements shared by the community. When the user gets a push notification, there will be a preview of the Announcement.

Add Covid-19 Tests & Vaccines in the Quality Measures Module

As communities start working with CVS and Walgreens to roll out the Covid-19 vaccine, communities will be able to track Covid-19 tests and vaccines within the quality measures feature. The Covid-19 Report will also now include the vaccinations and additional Covid-19 test results.

New TAL (Transportation Assistance level) field in the resident’s profile

Introduction of a new profile field that can pull on the emergency printout of TAL (Transportation Assistance Level) to quickly assess the level of assistance a resident needs in the case of evacuation.

IP- Facility Restriction

We have allowed for IP restrictions to be put in place in order to restrict access to individual facilities being accessed from the facility dashboard based on IP address.

Announcements Preview in Email Notifications

Users will be able to see a preview of announcements shared by communities in the email notification.

CE: Infinite Scroll in Directory

As you scroll through the directory, it will automatically and seamlessly update with resident or staff profiles, opposed to clicking through multiple pages.

As-Needed Assessments available in the Launch Pad

As-needed assessments are now available in the Launch Assessment section without going into the Assessment setting configuration section within the resident profile.

Complete Assessment – Schedule vs. Ad Hoc Assessment

When signing and completing an assessment, you now have the option to choose whether it is a scheduled assessment or an Ad Hoc assessment.

Legends on EMAR Printouts shall reflect the updated Med Administration name

Medication administration level type is now reflected in the eMAR monthly printout and batch printouts.

Show the email’s in the single line of the printed ER Document

Emails will not be printed out on a single line opposed to multiple.
